Hey guys! has anyone tried upgrading from windows 8 to the leaked blue version? I was planning to upgrade it now so If anyone can confirm that the upgrade works seamlessly and all apps and settings/files are retained?

I don't recommend doing this with leaked, non-final version.

Yes there is that option when you start the install. It has the upgrade or stand alone install. Did a clean install and at this point it is not recommend to upgrade. Too many things not working in this build.

upgrading from functional RTM to nonfunctional nonsense is quite kind of nonsense, isn't it :D
I'd never done this but in a VM environment or a separate machine

Well how goes the saying again?

    Ah yes.
There are no stupid questions. There are only stupid answers.

Well shame on our stupid answers to not giving Htb2050 the oportunity to inform himselve on this essential matter of upgrading a production envirement into a likly unstable pre release version of a os which isn't even sure to have the same pruduct name on the release day. Shame on us to force our somewhat even a little knowlage on the mater on him and even bother to ask if he even wanted to realy inform himselve.

Now I know when I feel the urge to ask such questions and to be forcefully keept from informing myselve or even trying it out myselve or even trying to use common sense to solve such a mystery, I am now able to sattisfy my urge here. Only ask here and blissfully forget to look for it somewhere else.

In the win8 pre-release days canouna had been testing on upgrading to different builds, if setup refuses to upgrade, it could be tricked by editing a file in the sources folder(couldn't remember which one). :D
