Just format the USB stick NTFS and extract the iso to it, it will boot legacy bios. The only thing causing not being able to boot could be that it's an old board, and win 10 doesn't work on it because of hardware incompatibility, but then the upgrade also should have failed.
thanks for the reply @Enthousiast i've tried booting with ntfs formatted usb with iso extracted on it but problem doesnt go away. logo appear without spinning dots and later error appear some files are missing. yeah i've upgraded successfully but cant do clean install. sergei strelec and dlc boot winpe both are also unable to boot successfully and i've booted them on very old motherboard.. i'm not sure if its the old board incompatibility problem.
What format did you use on the Rufus to create the bootable USB? I would advise you check the format first and make sure it is compatible with your system Setup. That is, check if the Gigabyte is UEFI or normal BIOS.
Flaky USB booting on older boards is something I run into a lot. Things you can try, not necessarily in this order: 1) 4GB or smaller flash drives work better at booting in older motherboards. 2) Set USB ports to slower speed. For that motherboard in the bios under integrated peripherals > USB 2.0 Controller > disable (that'll make the USB ports work as USB 1.1 ports). 3) Try a different port. 4) Try a different flash drive.
Yes, but the partition scheme matters in most cases. In other words you would have to try the three partition schemes provided by Rufus - if you are not sure of your system level of UEFI.
Okay. I didn't border to see to the link he posted due to my inadvertently trying to fix something over here. Then he should use the first partition scheme on the list, which is, ''MBR partition scheme for BIOS or UEFI''.
Is this a Windows-2-Go (type) setup you are trying to boot? If so I had my success using a W-2-G USB drive I created w/ Windows10. It wouldn't boot from a USB 3.0 port but worked fine from a USB 2.0 port.
thanks @pf100 for your suggestion.. i was trying with 32 gb usb before and was failing in booting properly. but after your suggestion i tried 4 gb usb and it worked perfectly, although it is taking more time in appearing spinning dots in windows iso booting but i successfully did a clean install with it..and other win pe iso are also working fine.. and thanks to all for your useful inputs. cheers
Hi @pf100 In the above mentioned motherboard 4gb usb is working fine by following your suggestions but it is working slow and it is not the slow usb since my 32 gb usb 3.0 is fast but also works slow in booting in this board. Usb booting is much slower than even dvd. I've checked all ports but same result. Although inside windows usb works fast and in booting usb is very slow. Have you faced any similar situation. Any solution. Thanks
