Hello. I have a laptop ACER ASPIRE 5733 bought in 2012 (v1.07 motherboard version), under Windows 10 64 bits. Original there is a memory of 4 GB DDR3 " ELPIDA 4GB 2Rx8 PC3-10600S-9-10-F2." I wanted to boost memory, after checking that the motherboard is supposed to support 8 GB. I ordered from a site a new ram SODIMM 4 GB brand G.SKILL ref DDR3-1333 PC3-10600 / 10666 Once the two bars installed in the two slots of the PC, in the initial Setup, I see well indicated 8 GB of memory. But Windows can not start: I enter a loop "Preparation of automatic repair" and reboot, with occasional messages such as: IRQL Not less Gold Equal Page Fault in Nonpaged Area Kernel Security Check Failure PFN List Corrupt If I remove the original ELPIDA bar leaving only the G. Skill bar, the setup indicates 4 GB of memory, but Windows 10 always crashes at startup. I thought I had everything checked to have the necessary compatibility. Where did I plant? Do I have a solution other than sending the card back ? Do I have to give up my memory expansion to 8 GB? Thank you in advance for your help. In another forum I saw a member having a similar problem.
u need to make sure what kind of ram your using....if is low density or high density both module must be the same....contact the vendor were u purchase the ram make sure u have proper mem in their.
i called them and they seem to know less than me, they don't seem to know anything about their product, these guys sell stuff and they don't know anything about what they are seeling to people, very strange.
the original ram is old (PC 2012) and since then Elpida was taken over by another society (Micron) and they no longer sell the same model
thank you, i am not at home at the moment and no need to check the numbers, all matters is that both ram have the same technical specs and it is the case, they are both identical so it should work and it is really at very attractive price.
Return the 4Gb stick you bought and buy a 2Gb stick cuz the max ram you´re laptop supports is 6GB by the manufacturer bios restriction, but not documented.
The OP only posted a 2012 ACER ASPIRE 5733. I do not believe we can accurately say what is the correct memory set up or modules with out a complete model number... Like an Acer 5733-(XXXX) Those last 4 missing numbers would help, Look on the back side sticker for a complete model number
