I use 7ultimate and installed xp mode, which works fine, but when I want to play an old videogame, I get: “16 bit MS-DOS Subsystem – The video device failed to initialize for fullscreen mode. Choose ‘Close’ to terminate the application. ”

Is there a way around this? IT is the only reason I installed xp mode.....

    Thanks

Installed DOSBOX.... playing like a maniac again.... Thanks again to everybody.

One more question though..... How do I get back to my desktop, or Windows 7, without using the task manager??

I think installing an old DOS like 6.22 onto VMW or VBox guest gives the same tough DOS emulation as DOSBox self.;)

So far so good, but a new problem has appeared... when started, it runs perfectly, but after a few minutes, the speed slows down to a crawl. And it does that every time. After some time it will get faster again, then slow again...

How do get to a stable speed`?
