    Hello everybody

I have an i7-7500U computer and I want to install macOS.

In VirtualBox I can only install up to Monterey, while in VMware I can install anyone.
For example in Sonoma I get "This system was automatically rebooted after panic".
I think this is due to using a processor that has been around for some time.

For example, can someone with an i7-1355U processor install Sonoma in VirtualBox?

I imagine it is the type of cpu vbox is trying to emulate that is giving you issues.

vmware works better for a macos vm anyway, and you should just ditch vbox.

if you don't want to buy vmware workstation pro, you can use player, and use another program to configure the .vmx file like you would with workstation pro, but I can't remember the name of it...

but vbox really is lacking these days for modern hardware. I never use it anymore for anything. qemu and vmware are much better options.
