I updated my bios and it gave me an option to enable ahci of course I'm not stupid so I did I am currently running a triboot on my Gigabyte 785gm MATX board setup as a HTPC with Vista 32 bit, Windows 7 64 bit ultimate, and of course Windows 8 Pro.

I initially enabled AHCI on my machine and had all sorts of startup trouble so I disabled it and went with IDE followed the online instructions of changing registry values but still Windows 8 will not boot and I get a bluescreen.

I then manually went to Windows 7 partition and it installed the drivers, and then I went to the Vista Partition and it installed the drivers but for whatever reason it keeps getting stuck regarding Windows 8.

I am in my wits end so I am trying to reset my pc with windows 8 hoping that it might fix AHCI that way if anyone else has this problem please let me know.

I recently saw a member with a newerboard who had the same problem but I can't find his thread.

Nevermind it seems like that fixed it.
