Product key for b7264

    wher to get a product key to do a clean install of b7264 (x64) my previous beta keys are pronounced invalid. as this is right at the beginning, i cannot get to try any of the activation programs
    thanks for some advice . .

    You have 30 days to activate,just wait for RTM build.:D
    Next week or two.

    so it seems like many people are discussing the activation process . . . .. but how do they get that far? i still looking for a valid product key . .

    Just download official RC from MS they will give you a key that lasts till next july and forget all the beta versions going about untill official RTM:)

    I used Andy's tool to mod my board with HP SLIC 2.1 so it's all ready to go, just waiting for Windows 7 RTM now...hopefully we'll get some SLP keys and the certs soon after the RTM is released.

    there is a way to let windows 7 build 7264 accept the RC/Beta Keys, you just have to replace two files from an ealyer build I tested with with the files from the 7260 build but I hear they work for many ealyer builds too, these are the files that need to be replaced:
    C:\Windows\System32\spp\tokens\pkeyconfig
    C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\
    Microsoft\SoftwareProtectionPlatform

    For the second one, you have to show hidden files or you won't see the AppData directory. also you will probably need to take owner ship of these files and change the permisions to allow you to over-write them. also you may need to stop the software protection service, or do it in safe mode.

    ok sorry about that. I'm new here. I noticed people talking about activation programs, so just to make sure you know there is a way to activate without cracks, just by replacing the files from previews builds..
