Does anybody know for sure whether a retail key for an english dvd work with a french (or any other langauge) dvd? I googled for it but there seem to be conflicting versions.

OEM:SLP keys are not language dependant so i would think retail would be the same. If it is Retail Key and not OEM:NONE SLP they just try installation and see. Or install but do not activate or disconnect router or modem.

All Windows 7 keys works on cross of bit version and languages. So any key be used on any language and any bit version. Of course, only the same Windows 7 version then. (A ultimate key can only be used on Ultimate).
The same is with Office 2010 keys, and Office 2007 keys. But on Office 2007, you can get problems with activating if you use the same key on two different installations with different language. But if you call MS, you get activated. Office 2010 has not that problem.
