program to check slic in downloaded bios update

    is there a program to check what slic is in the bios update, ive downloaded from laptop maker. i got a acer aspire 5715z been on their website and its asking which operating system ive got.it currently has vista but also shows on website windows 7 drivers and bios updates. but the bios update are both named the same with the same date. only difference is at top of screen where it asks me to input operating system. will it have both in depending which system it is installed from. thanks

    if you go strait to the bios without selecting the operating system there is no option to select one.
    the bios is for all operating systems.

    thanks, so if i install it then windows 7, then install cert and key for acer windows 7 will it come back as genuine
