Why take it from the quick guide? http ://blogs.msdn.com/b/ie/archive/2015/01/22/project-spartan-and-the-windows-10-january-preview-build.aspx has tons of pictures.
Are we going to see Android extensions working in Spartan browser as Microsoft is looking for ways to bring the apps to Windows 10?
I personally don't like the icon chosen for Project Spartan. It looks like the default icon for some cheap Chinese Android tablets browser I have come across in my country. The Internet Explorer's icon is even better and refreshing. I hope they change it with time.
That's not the final icon, they just reused the icon from settings - just like "Project Spartan" isn't going to be the final name.
I can't wrap my head around the particular logo people are peddling around the internet for Spartan browser, a gauntlet with Internet Explorer's embedded inside, whereas the one for the Project Spartan released by Microsoft is different with a global network symbol. This one seems to be the original logo known yet. This is the one peddled by internet creative users.
I could imagine they plan to reuse the IE icon with an "e" because many people associate the internet with it. That is also why they need to use a name that begins with an E (remember the list of candidate names leaked some time ago?).
My suggestion would be to go for a different beautiful icon instead of using old Internet Explorer icon of the browser people see as disappointment.
Why not? IE still beats Firefox\opera\ and destroys Safari in usage. Even your source says IE is second place in the desktop world.... Also chrome has a high market share because of android. In the desktop market share IE is still at 58% market share and chrome around 21%. Than again you rather Trololol than get real facts...
I don't know if anybody observes the logo of Project Spartan to be the globe symbol in the image above. I doubt if they are going to change the logo in the future. The recent image is credited to ITHome.it
