Hello, I am doing a Self-Study of CEH v8. My problem is, when I click to open pwdump7, it opens cmd for a few seconds and then closes it. I tried downloading a copy from their website but it does the same thing. I tried disabling the firewall but it doesn't help either. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

You need to run it from a shell like Command Prompt or Powershell.

You use the normal MS-DOS like shell commands.

    x:
    cd
    dir

    etc.

Hi, I copied pwdump 7 to my Desktop and used "cd" to navigate to it in Powershell. It's working now. I can get passwords from my local PC, but how do I use it on a remote PC?

Thanks for the reply. I looked over your link and choose pwdump6 because it runs on remote Target Machines. Now I need instructions on how to Install it. I downloaded the zip file and extracted it to my Desktop. I don't see any exe files. I was able to navigate to a pwdump application, but after entering in the commands "pwdump" it gives the error "command not found." Do I need to do anything to install it? Please respond. Thanks

Me again...Does anyone know why I get the error "command not found?" The instructions say all I need is a machine name.

Me again...Why does it give the error "command not found" when I enter "pwdump?" Whats the exact code I should enter? It says I only need "pwdump + Machine Name."

Hi. I found a problem. When I navigate to Desktop>pwdump6, It doesn't show a pwdump Application. That's why I get the error "command not found." (I can't navigate to the App.) Also, the Readme says to Install exe files and .dll files in the same Directory. How do I do that? I extracted all files in the download to my Desktop. Any ideas? How do I Install pwdump6 and then run it on a Remote Machine?

Hi, I finally navigated to pwdump6. Now whenever I enter code I get "logon ipc$ failed, error 53." Does anyone know what error 53 is and how do I fix it? Please respond. Thanks
