I looked up in theoven Winxshell is good shell have same very basic stuff, but cant be replacement I tried make Win10PE SE shell works on normal Windows 10 and didn't succeed the reason is well known, new explorer is too demanding for old hdd Also it would help cutting telemetry
I like both Q-Dir 64 bit and Directory Opus light, I could upgrade to Pro for Directory Opus in the future.
There are many explorer alternatives out there but none of them are good enought to actually replace Windows Explorer. One of the top reasons is that they won't automatically refresh the directory once a change is detected. This is true for Q-Dir, Total Commander, Xyplorer, Xplorer2 which I've tested. I would recommend either Total Commander (you need to learn to use it first) or Q-Dir. But don't expect too much from them.
Try this: create a desktop shortcut with this Target: C:\Windows\explorer.exe shell:AppsFolder\c5e2524a-ea46-4f67-841f-6a9465d9d515_cw5n1h2txyewy!App start folder: c:\windows Same old explorer but I think it feels lighter
Hi mydigitallife, I love you. I've recently came across the idea of customizing Windows Shell. A few google searches later and I find a pretty extensive list of options. However, all of them seem to have been abandoned or discontinued. I love the idea of a lightweight, speedy, highly customizeable Windows 10 Shell... much like Rooting my Android phones and customizing the firmware & ROM. Any feedback is appreciated! If I find out anything worthwhile, I'll be sure to update my OP. Thanks a bunch! Bryan
