Hi All, I just received the Spectrum 200 mbps Internet package, set it up, and went to go on tox when the modem crashed. There are issues regarding qTox and UDP. Here's my workaround. Go into the "Firewall" settings of the modem and turn off "IPV6 filtering". That's it.
@MS_User: What makes you think I'm worried about big brother? Perhaps I just don't like using skype for IM...
UPDATE: Apparently, there was a firmware update for my cable modem. qTox still crashes the Cable modem. Back to the drawing board.
HI MJ, hmm you already try open Windows Firewall with advanced security there have a lot of settings to change or disable, so all related to IPV6 disable including inside of services.msc and inside of net config open little window and also disable IPV6 in sequence restart to see if now works
@Tiger-1: The problem is caused by the UDP protocol, and the ISPs might think that it's a DDOS attack. Sorry to say, it looks like the best thing to do is to replace qTox with something else. QuantumBug and I are evaluating retroshare. http://retroshare.net/
So We ended up switching to Retroshare. It seems to work well. I'm not using the Tor version, but it's out there for anyone who wants to use it.
