I wasn't exactly sure where this should be posted and I hope this is the right spot. I have a DELL e520 PC that came with Vista when it was new. It now has a wiped HD. I have a DELL Win 7 disc that I have used for other PC's I have built along with the SLIC you have provided me here with no problems. Since this PC is already a dell, shouldn't I be able to just pop in the Win 7 disc, install, and be on my merry way? As of right now, I installed Win 7 and it says that I have 3 days until activation. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, CBRRider1
I didn't do anything but update the BIOS to the latest version from Dell which was from 2007 anyway. I was under the impression that if it was already a dell machine, it would come up as activated. So do I go through the same request process as I would with a self built PC, or is it a little different? Thanks in advance for all your help. I appreciate it.
Thanx man! I posted up and got a SLIC in 18 min. I love the response time. I updated and now I'm all good.
