I'm trying to patch Virtual PC AMI BIOS.
I extracted Module 06 that contains DMI info.

There are a lot of info that i can modify. What are the exact point where put for example the "AcerSystem " label?

If i Replace "Microsoft Corp.." label with AcerSystem then Everest and Vista don't detect the mainboard correctly.
There is only one space avaiable "Filled by O.E.M.". It could be the right one?

    Thx.

    tnx very usefull.
i have understand that the OEM string must be inside DMI on whichever position except where there is the "Microsoft corp.." (otherwise everest and vista don't detect the right motherboard driver!).
So the mechanism of SLP 1 is check only the presence of a string inside a range. is it Right?

I have read it... and i understand it.
One one thing i dont' understand...why in oembios.net site there are a lot of duplicate names (es: "AcerSystem ","AcerSystem ")?

The way to be a bios guru is very long...;)

DMI editing happens in real-time in most cases, and he just said that the only tool that will work for virtual pc is mmtool.

Download MMTool ive posted above from rapidshare there is PDF file in archive showing method, you dont flash Virtual Bios through dos you need to extract the bios from vitrual PC exe itself using an resource editor then edit the bios file in MMTool v2.22.1 it is only version that will edit Virtual PC bios.

so sorry I should have done a search before asking. I found someone who posted a hacked vpc exe with slic bios. However, that one does not have slp for xp. I'm trying to combine the slp and slic together. XP SLP works. Testing Vista SLIC now.
