Question about moving OEM activated XP

    Anyone know if I can move my HDD to a new machine and move it into a new pc and keep it activated?

    Its a dell and Im putting it into a custom rig. Any ideas?

    it should not be any problem , you will have to just update the drivers

    No,it won't activate.

    Correct it won't stay activated because you do not have dell SLP 1.0 string in bios you would need to mod the bios in you new motherboard.

    chances are your new machine won't boot at all from that windows installation seeing as your current installation has all the drivers installed for that machine's hardware. when you move that installation to new hardware, none of those drivers will be present. that's just my guess.
