When I press double click on file, how can I do the file will open by application ? (It possible to open by program).
What file is it ? What extension ? I.E .zip file. Right click, properties, open with select app. Browse to select WinZip. That file would then have a WinZip logo attached to it and WinZip would open when the file was double clicked. Does this help ?
1) file of "NovaMind Mind Mapping" app. 2) the extension is : nm5. 3) I don't see in right click (in menu) the app in list.
Right click on the .nm5 file. Pop up window will\should appear At the bottom, PROPERTIES You should then be able to browse to that NovaMind.exe. Select that then all .nm5 files should be associated to that app. Although I have never heard of that.
I have 2 options : 1) to looking for app in store and it won't help me. 2) to looking for app in computer. so where can I find this app in program files ?
Have you got this here NovaMind installed onto your PC ? START type novamind, windows 8 will show you the app. Win 8 keeps programmes in the same place as the others. C:\Programme Files C:\Programme Filesx86 Depending if your running x64 Windows and if that software is x64 architecture.
I'm talking about : File Type Association in Metro Style App. you can't access to apps folder in program files.
You just can't, Metro apps are not executables out of metro container, they just can wrapped in metro interface, like it's a totally different OS. shame on M$ :/ You can find all Metro Apps files on "C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\" there's in fact executables from the apps, but windows aren't running it out of metro, in any case, so you cant associate this with "open with.." feature.
I just installed his app and tried to do what your asking. I looked in the WindowsApps folder ( Hidden by the way ) and there is nothing to associate the file to. I also installed the .exe of NovaMind. It's a trial version. As soon as the software was installed my .nm5 had the icon attached and the software ran when double clicked on. As well know would happen. For the app. All I could do was run the app, right click on the screen and import the .nm5 file. That worked well all be it a little long winded. I did a quick search to "end the trial" of the software. Did not look too hard but found nowt.
