Okay to cut the story short. Installed Win7 home basic x64 from a vista x86(32). Now there are some files which are left here taking up alot of space(Dont know the actual figures but right now my hardisk is half full in a 160gb). Question is. How do i remove all of vista's files(remains) without reinstalling into a different partition?
there should be a copy of the whole vista installation in C:\windows.old if you don't need anything from that you can delete that folder
If you are happy with win 7 and don't plan on going back to vista, then you can delete the old files. Go to start menu / search , type disc cleanup. Select all you want to delete then click the more options tab. Select remove shadow copies. This should free up some valuable space.
