    Hi,

I have laptop with Vista OEM and SLIC 2.0 BIOS. If I mod BIOS to 2.1, what else do I have to do to keep Vista happy and activated?

I downloaded old certificate and SLIC Tool says it matches with new 2.1 HP SLIC BIN. Does that mean it;s all right?

My current table identified as HPQOEMSLIC-MPC, which your link listed as 2.1 cert.

If the certificate and Slic match then yes it is ok. You also need an OEM-SLP key that matches your version of Vista.
If you upgrade to Win 7 then you will have to install the same certificate an use an OEM-SLP key that matches your version of Win 7.
V2.1 is compatible with both Vista and Win 7.

If you had vista installed using oem slp key previously then that same key would work.
