I am about to install OS X Mountain Lion on my PC at home. I wanted to know if we need the .dmg of it or the app from the app store. I managed to get the .dmg from somewhere, but AFAIK, last time when I tried to install, it asked for the app there was no way you could install a .dmg. Could someone help me out with the procedure also once I download it? Thanx!
Its a bit of a catch 22, as you need a system running OSX to be able to restore the InstallESD.dmg to a usb key then make that bootable. In the end I used the iAtkos L2 iso to install Lion and then used Lion Diskmaker to make a bootable USB Mountain Lion install drive.
I tried transmac and had no luck with it. What I ended up doing was i ran 10.7 in vmware, downloaded the dmg from the app store, and used unibeast to make a bootable flash drive. I got as far as booting to the flash drive and it just hangs on the apple logo screen every time I try it. I have Radeon HD 6850s in my pc and I read that you can't boot to the install with that video card. So I borrowed a geforce 210 from a friend and it still wouldn't boot. I have since given up.
i used iATKOS's new release ML2 and my hardware supported, all i have googled today shows probably problem with AHCI, i have no access to all my BIOS conf. i requested one advanced modded but still have no reply
so its becomes even worst, now i cant install nothing except Windows. i changed USBs , HDDs now it doesnt want to boot from anywhere not from DVD not from USB not from HDD. option 1: when its tryin to boot i gettin message that mac have to restart without installation option 2: changed media booting from DVD after i press enter the screen stays black option 3: before i wiped all USBs and HDD says cant find mach_kernel even when i re installed it few times. i cant change my Wi Fi card cause of BIOS, my bios i think totally screw all what im tryin to do, i need one moded bios as soon as possible does anyone can help me here?
cause i need my bios to be moded first so i can change or disable enable some devices configurations?
