Does anyone know or actually tried an AMD Radeon RX 7000 graphic card (7600, 7700, 7800, 7900) on Windows 7 with the driver from the Radeon RX 6000 series? I know it is officially not supported, but maybe adding the hardware ID (HWID) to the inf file or other modifications work? The latest official driver for Windows 7 is Radeon Software Adrenalin 22.6.1 which can be downloaded here: h t t p s://drivers.amd.com/drivers/radeon-software-adrenalin-2020-22.6.1-win7-64bit-june23-2022.exe
i'm not sure. i bought RX 6700 to make sure it works at windows 7. no more update for driver though, the last one is 22.6.1.
try yourself , or install windows 10 ltsc 2021 , add openshell and classic explorer to have windows 7 experience with windows store and all store removed by default
I think (possibly) you're taking the matter the wrong way. IMHO you have more chances to get the proper 7000 W10 (or w8.x driver, if it exist) removing the block to install in w7 rather than using the W7 driver and adding the PCI id of the card to the 6000 W7 driver. Both ways are pretty easy to test, but the actual HW is needed to see if it works. You can always order the card on amazon, test the mod, and eventually return it. Or surrender to W10 like @pm67310 "Marie Antoniette" suggested (no bread? eat some brioches) .
Thank you all for your answers. I finally could get a graphic card from the Radeon RX 6000 series for a reasonable price so there no need anymore for a graphic card from the Radeon RX 7000 series
