Would clearing ram via SmartRam etc small tools cause lag in photoshop or 3d design softwares such as 3dsmax?

Because for exp when i work on heavy photoshop project, in task manager photoshop's ram usage drops to 200-300mb and then goes back to 2-3gb (smartram is the reason)

i'm curious that is it making it worse than being benefical? bc it always goes all the way back to documents size i'm working (up to 3-5 gb).. and i think this will harm ram and exhaust it more? and causes lag?

It should not cause lag, unless something fishy is going on, like moving it to pagefile or etc, try Cleanmem or Mem Reduct instead.

okay thanks, just wanted to know since there is huge clears going on and photoshop fills it back all the time..

i think all the tools do the same job. and since i like smartram's ui i will stick with it.. i made it unattended portable which is nice.
