I have dust under the glass of my hp 13" split x2 that makes it look like a dead pixels. Would I have to restore it to windows 8. before I can get the screen replaced or have the dust removed under my warranty?
Well, that's a fifty thousand dollar question. In reality no. But I've seen warranties voided for defective software because the was a small scratch on the screen. Best put all cards on your side.
how in the world could software scratch a screen? LOL Called HP and they said instsalling Windows 10 wont void your warranty.
yeah not mess with RMA's, Returns, or Repairs. Get them out of the way before you do any updates to the OS. Regardless of how other people might have had success or not, go with the safe bet and save yourself come potential grief later.
Until Windows 10 is released AND HP are promoting it for your device, don't take the risk. as EFA11 says returning things can go bad very quickly.
Why wouldn't you call and ask them instead of asking here and getting an answer that has as much chance of being wrong as right?
Hey, guys have you idea why Windows 10 Home is the best version for Windows 10 ? NO ? Because when Microsoft deploy update, the updates could be cause Blue screen of Death. And the users can't delayed the update with this version.
Lots of companies will try and find a way out of warranty repairs as it affects their profits. And having an unreleased and/or unauthorised OS on the device would be a great excuse for them to tell you to P... Off. Just look at how many times MS denied there was a problem with the Xbox360, and charged people for repairs. It took a court case for them to back down and admit there was a design fault.
