The License (EULA) which will be shown to you also depends on the [Channel]. If you choose OEM, you will get: Retail will show and Volume
Hi missile! Hope the info I posted helps you. As far as your specific questions, as I said in the original post on neowin.net, I got the idea to make up and add the ei.cfg file when I saw it in an earlier win 8 all-in-one .iso I had downloaded, so I really don't know anything about how it works. I of course just knew to snoop around for that file since it was the operative one with Windows 7, and saw that adding it did what we wanted. The good part is that we can get all set up now instead of waiting weeks or months for all the gurus to come out with the same advice. Glad that you're interested in this--I didn't find much about it regarding win 8 but was able to do this much by myself. Hope you're having fun. takeahike
My ei.cfg has: [Channel] OEM Why does the License (EULA) end with EULAID:Win_RM_2_PS_R_en-us? If I actually add an OEM key to my unattend I do get Win_RM_3_PS_O_en-us. Do I need something else? If it is now a Retail install will an OEM key work and activate Win8?? Thanks
FOR WINDOWS 8, WINDOWS 8 PRO, & ISO WITH WINDOWS 8 PRO WITH MEDIA CENTER, ADDED. FOR RETAIL: [Channel] _Default [VL] 0 FOR OEM: [Channel] OEM [VL] 0 FOR ENTERPRISE: [Channel] Volume [VL] 1 LOOK IN C:\Windows\System32\Licenses\neutral _Default = EULAID:Win_RM_2_PS_R_en-us (WINDOWS 8 PRO). OEM = EULAID:Win_RM_3_PS_O_en-us (WINDOWS 8 PRO). Volume = EULAID:Win_RM_1_PS_V_en-us WINDOWS 8, WINDOWS 8 PRO WITH MEDIA CENTER, WILL BE DIFFERENT BECAUSE THEY HAVE BEEN UNLOCKED OR ADDED ON/IN THE ISO.
