First, pleas forgive me if this sounds like too much of a newbie question.

I've quickly read some Google search and it seems that one cannot Upgrade from WDP to WCP while keeping All applications. (Win7 -> WCP is however fine).

So could you confirm or disprove the above ?

Did you lose all apps (including non-microsoft) after you upgraded dev preview to consumer preview ?

I know there are many disadvantages of doing upgrade instead of fresh install.

But this time, I prefer upgrade.

When a new disk arrives, I'll to make a full backup of current system before pulling the trigger :)

I have been enjoying my WDP for about 6 months now and have installed apps, and many non-Microsoft drivers, and many external devices with their own apps.. So for me, the time amount to dig-out the original install, re-install them, reboot, set the settings to what it was (impossible tasks for all settings) etc... outweighs the fresh-install's advantages.

    Thank you everyone.
