This is my version: MICROSOFT.WINDOWS.7.ULTIMATE.RTM.X64.OEM-YOMOFOSHEREISOEM Hashtab generated info from the ISO: CRC32: 2211FE19 MD5: DAD9F7A0B4D5D928A6A67BA6CD896350 SHA-1: 82C8C36423A1511516E54DC7E54B96603AA88F01 I cant seem to find a match anywhere, does this mean I have a tampered with copy or is it because its an OEM image? Many Thanks
Because its an OEM image, OEM images are not been posted on Technet I have the OEM from ZOKUNA, it is the same 7600.16385.090713-1255_x64fre_client_en-us_OEM_Ultimate-GRMCULXFREO_EN_DVD.iso SHA1 82c8c36423a1511516e54dc7e54b96603aa88f01
I thought it was a tampered copy (somebody had changed /sources/ei.cfg) to install OEM version. But i'm not sure (seen to many releases come by)..You could swap the ei.cfg from another copy and see if the hash would be correct.. Or do a differ from two downloaded copy's and look at the changed files... Maybe there's a little easteregg in it.. Have fun investigating....
I have the OEM from ZOKUNA, it is the same 7600.16385.090713-1255_x64fre_client_en-us_OEM_Ultimate-GRMCULXFREO_EN_DVD.iso SHA1 82c8c36423a1511516e54dc7e54b96603aa88f01 Ok, this still is no guarantee it is 100% official, the fact is all other ZOKUNA releases turned out to be the real deal
just to clarify, this OEM is unverified - we don't yet know if its final, or has been tampered with as there isn't an official source to compare against?
There is no such thing as an OEM image. RTM is Retail/OEM the difference is the OEM vendors add a certificate and OEM key. MS didn't release an OEM image at all. That means this image has been tampered for sure.
you have proof for that? Not true in my opinion. You can have different kind of oem discs, just like with XP, Brand specific OEM discs, but you also have the COA OEM discs. If i would buy a OEM (COA) from ebay or such, no vendor logos or other preinstalled crap will be on it, it won't include a SLP key either, just a COA key. I agree both discs a basicly the same, but if you purchased OEM you are presented with a OEM eula, not with the eula from a retail (again just like with XP) OEM images, never...never have been posted on technet, only available to partners or OEM partners with Access Pack subscriptions
I thought the OEM vendors might have been given a different package than the technet subscribers. Who really knows?
Ok, but the problem is - you cannot verify if that kind of image is genuine or not, because there are no hashes for them floating around, nor confirmed. IMHO - I would stick to the Retail one and just add a cert + OEM key, maybe slipstream some updates and LP...
I have both the Retail, and so-called OEM image... They seem identical in contents. Same exact file size for the .iso's (and the hash of my Retail matches MS's one on TechNet, so it is legit). Only difference seems to be in ei.cfg, where in the OEM version it says: [EditionID] Ultimate [Channel] OEM [VL] 0 ...and in the retail ei.cfg it says: [EditionID] Ultimate [Channel] Retail [VL] 0 ...other than that, there is no difference that I can find...
Any more info on this? I installed it in Virtual PC and did a scan with Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009 and that didn't show anything. I am not sure if this is enough though? I was about to install it on my PC this weekend, but now I'm not too sure....
LOL @ Everilda Yeah most people don't even read the relevant threads some of the same questions keep getting asked in reference to the ei.cfg.
Ok, I got the MSDN version checked the hash and all so it's the correct one. Then I unpacked both, and made a CRC-file fron the MSND one and compared it to this one. The only difference is the sources\ei.cfg file which in this release has OEM while MSDN has Retail. That's it, I can't find anything else different either. Code: [EditionID] Ultimate [Channel] OEM [VL] 0 Code: [EditionID] Ultimate [Channel] Retail [VL] 0
