Is it definitely confirmed, 100% for sure, that the latest build floating around, 10240 is indeed the RTM version? Namely that a couple of months from now, if one was to buy Windows 10, it would be absolutely identical to this build 10240? Thank you!!!
Quick answer: 1. On Jul 29, rush to a store. 2. Buy a machine that says defintely it is isntalled with Windows 10, probably a Dell, HP,or Lenovo 3. Go home and switch on, but don't connect to web. 4. Check if it's 10240.16384, or something else, then you are 100% sure. 5. Don't forget to report to us, tks in advance!
No its a build before Gold RTM to make sure everything is ok thx for the help of the Insiders it might be if Microsoft confirme its RTM after all is ok
Nobody knows for sure, and we probably won't know until July 29th. There's a good indicator that it is. Take it with a grain of salt. Likely it is a RTM build but will receive a nice big GA patch on the 29th to roll you up to the latest bits - same thing occurred with Windows 8 I believe.
I have to facepalm everytime i see people say "guess we'll have to wait til the 29th to see if it's truly RTM". No you don't. RTM means release to manufacturing - which is exactly what they did with 10240.16384. Is it the version we're gonna get on release date ? Maybe not. But is it RTM ? Of course it is!
10240.16384 may be RTM but it definitely won't be the version released on the 29th. With over a week to go the version is already 10240.16390 and growing. By the way Microsoft is already working on 10245
Sorry, but that's not a satisfying answer to the original question: "Is it definitely confirmed, 100% for sure, that the latest build floating around, 10240 is indeed the RTM version?" Quick answer: No. Why? It hasn't been confirmed, nothing has been officially announced, it's likely to be RTM, but we cannot be 100% sure. Time will tellâ„¢.
