    Hi everyone,

After trying Windows8, my biggest issue was that it wasn't as fast as Windows7.
I think it has to do with the fact that I'm using supercache and ramdisk in W7.

    Small specs:
    64GB RAM
    256GB SSD
    2TB Raid1 HDD

W7 uses 32GB for a ramdrive and 16GB as ramcache (over my SSD/HDD drives).
This setup gives me a perfect fluid windows experience.
With W8 I could only find ramdrive apps so I had to do away with my 16GB ramcache.
    This setup lags like MAD.

Dragging windowed apps is not smooth (probably Aero related?) playing a movie and copying a file makes it lag and stutter.
    Etc.

What I usually do (at the same time):
    1. Download at 14MiB/s.
    2. PAR check files.
    3. Extract rar files.
    4. Copy extracted files to it's final destination.
    5. 1080p movie playback.

I do NOT notice this in W7 at all... it could do all 5 steps at the same time and never notice when 1-4 starts or finishes.
W8 however... 1080p movie playback is impossibru (aka unacceptable for me).

Gone back to my W7 backup for now but maybe some kind of cache solution gives me back my speed?
    Anyone found/tried some?

I'm pretty sure eBoostr works on Windows 8 even though it hasn't been updated in forever, so does fancycache which is updated on a regular basis and is free atm. Not a big fan of these programs though because although they speed up disk access time they create more cpu overhead.
