i have just brought a laptop samsung with win 7 pro already on it and a load of other junk and trial softwares as well  its far easier to do a clean install and get rid of the crap. it did not come with a win 7 disk.
i have a win7 aio rtm disk would this be ok to install the pro version from this on an oem machine using the original prod key to activate it again or do i need a version of win 7 pro oem?
    thanks in adavance.

You need more than just the serial to install you need SLIC 2.1 in bios + samsung certificate best thing to do is download SLIC DUMP ToolKit by DavidXXW and run it to check if you have slic 2.1 it can also backup your certificate and key. you will find info on forum on how to use these to activate or you can make your own OEM SLP DVD, as for your win7 aio rtm disk you need to be carfull with that it may have a loader installed always best with untouched windows 7 RTM x86 dvd or x64 you key will work with both or get ultimate key from stickies if you want that.

thanks for your reply.it must be slic 2.1 as it is brand new and came badged with win 7 and has win 7 prod key on the licence sticker and came with win 7 pro already installed,so i guess it will be ok to install win7 pro from an untouched rtm iso and when asked just use my prod code from the licence sticker.

    1. Download and run this tool: http://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/6925-SLIC-DUMP-ToolKit-x86-x64-(Includes-PKey-Cert-Backup)
    2. Navigate to advanced tab and select backup where it says certificate, key etc. Save these somewhere because you need them after you reinstall.
    3. Use the untouched RTM ISO to install Windows 7, don't bother to enter a key.
    4. Run windows 7
    5. Go to this page http://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/7126-The-Official-Windows-7-Repository
and search for "F-a. Install a certificate" without the quotes. Read the parts about installing the certificate and key, do this. Reboot, should now be activated.

Ignore the parts about downloading a certificate + key, you'll already have these as you used that tool to back them up :)

P.S You could even install the ultimate edition of Windows 7. Just get the samsung ultimate key from here: http://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/10370-Windows-7-OEM-SLP-Key-Collection :)
The certificate you have will work for all editions

So one can buy a netbook with win7 starter, dump the cert, load win7 ultimate and simply use the SLP key for bulletproof validation?

And if i have a notebook with a genuine copy of Korean Home Premium, can i use this method by dumping the key and cert to get genuine English Home Premium?

You can also start Windows Anytime Upgrade, and enter an Ultimate SLP key.
