I have an intel i5 750 processor on intel Dp55WB motherboard. In the bios when i click on active processor core it gives me option of All / one / and two core only. Should it not give options of 4 cores considering i5 750 is a quad core processor ?. The belarc advisor also gives prosessor as dual core?

I think (not sure) that this change has occurred after bios update. I am running the latest bios at present. BTW under device manager I see 4 processors. Also under Windows experience index it shows processor as 4 core.

    update

I see that in Windows 7 I can see only 1 core but in Win XP (dual boot) I can see all 4 cores.
Eureka. I found out it was not my motherboard or processor which was acting up. Actually a few days ago I chanced upon a thread in this forum on faster boot time setting via msconfig(Tips to get faster Windows 7 Boot Time ). I set the setting to 2 cores. This shows up as changed no of cores via CPU-Z , belarc or even sisoft sandra. One I unticked the option in msconfig> boot> advanced>processors option i find all above programs show 4 cores.
