To avoid all crappy hwid activators, better to google for "massgravel", it's the latest development originated from the original authors of the whole hwid developments.
As you know - a new motherboard is equal with a new computer. Two suggested options: contact Microsoft support and ask for a change. Result - Your current computer will be activated and the old one will be deleted forever. Alternatively, activate the new one using any method that You like, including the DAZ-loader is possible. It all depends, what or how do You want activate.
I had to replace the motherboard again after I posted this thread. So I couldn't get here until I got a replacement and things were ready. As you said, I ran the massgravel script. Though the files seemed clean, AV detected it as a threat when executed. I don't know why, maybe because it tried to modify system files. I abort that and read about their manual activation process. But instead of following it exactly, I did the below, and it worked. This is so easy and safe. It's like what Yen posted but without some steps. Anyway, thanks for letting me know about massgravel. Spoiler: WHAT I DID Run gatherosstate.exe and generate a GenuineTicket.xml Disable the internet connection Copy GenuineTicket.xml to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\ClipSVC\GenuineTicket\ and then reboot Connect online
Since this was upgraded from Windows Loader activated Win 7, can that be a problem when contacting MS?
The HWID was probably already established, there was no need to run anything, the new install picks up the previously established hwid by default. Why would you need to contact msft if all worked? Ofcourse MAS will trigger any AV, as long as it is the correct downloaded cmd it's false positive.
How could there was any HWID established since I changed the motherboard twice? And I didn't reinstall Windows.
What could this sentence mean? Would it be possible to translate into some of the understandable languages used on earth?
The OP already used MAS to obtain a new HWID, which can be found by googling for massgravel, not allowed to be discussed in detail on MDL.
Thanks a lot ! You saved my day ! I killed my wife's motherboard by accident and had to get a 2nd-hand one, which failed to activate afterwards, even that all our computers have genuine / purchased key's (online from M$, back in the day, via their upgrade offer).
I just replaced my Motherboard/CPU/Ram no issues at all.. however i actually bought a retail Windows 8 ($15) during the beta days so my license is a Retail license... Retail Licenses can be transfered.. your Windows Loader "license" was an OEM license and therefore tied to the machine itself..
