Trying. Interestingly enough that Crystal thingie gave me thumbs up for all drives on my server (well, got two independent drives and then the RAID), while Acronis (sees the RAID as one drive) immediately flagged one as having spinup errors and other issues. Not the system drive, fortunately. DiskCheckup does not even see the RAID drive, not even as a single drive, but it concurs with Acronis about drive errors. The failing drive is a Seagate ST3640323AS. It still works, but I have changed my system backup routine and moved around some files I have on it.
Not sure which one sees RAID , with the Seagate drive what part of SMART is failing, if it's the Ultra ATA CRC Error Rate then it could be bad cabling.
Well the errors are numerous and varied so the drive is dying. Still reads and writes decently though. I post a screenshot: Gonna grab SeaTools and see if an RMA may be relevant. It would still be nice to get a hold of an utility that detects individual RAID drives. Thanks soo far
It excludes the Promise TX4310, my controller, but that can change. This looks like very good app at reasonable price. ...hey it has network scan...! I have RMA on the failing disk so I will register that. But first a Firmware upgrade, just in case.
NoJuan999, I am talking to the Sentinel guys and trying out the software. Looks like a serious candidate.
