Nero 8 is enough for you and me actually, 10 is just maybe a little fixes and improvements. I won't suggest to use 10 it's totally a waste of money.
Nero is total garbage now nothing but bloat-ware no wonder people rip it to bits and release Lite versions, just to basically get the burning engine.
nero was the way to go like a decade ago now there is a picture of nero next to the word BLOATWARE do not install nero on your computer or will feed your registry with a big ammount of garbage and turn your pc into a behemoth potato
Someone here is a Nero fan. Used it till like 6.0. Installed 9.0 one year back but deleted it 2-3 days letter. Smaller and better programs that do the same job with a simple interface. Nero needs a manual now and has become like MS websites. Click something about where you want to go and land up somewhere else. As to the query, imgburn (previously used dvd decrypter 3.5.4.0), dvdshrink, and easy cd-da extractor do everything that I want with regarding to ripping, burning, or converting, shrinking. For video conversion and burning (like in movie downloads), convert x to dvd.
Actually ImgBurn is the best among all, i think. it provides easy menu and i like its "Folder to ISO" function. I feel that it's faster than Nero and as safe as Nero. It is also the first burner I ever tried.
I used to use nero, back on Nero 6. In fact I still have it installed on my XP machine. Then it became bloated like lots of other software. 1. develop great program that works well 2. get popular, make some money 3. add "features" (bloat) 4. PROFIT!
Ditto, Nero 6 was the best back in the days, after that, they kept adding bloatware to it to totally screw up a perfect product. I left Nero ever since I noticed that version 6 wasn't compatible with Windows 7....I hate all versions after that...I use BurnWare Free now. Does the job
I use Alcohol 120% for imaging and image burning as well as mounting image files.. rest all, i use windows 7 inbuilt burning program..
