A person accidentally formatted a micro sd card in her android phone.

She claims having thousands photos in there, but I've tried scanning with 8 programs plugging the card in my PC. No luck so far.

How could this be? No single file's been recovered so far.

    Thanks for replying.

That's why I asked her. I've never formatted a sd card on Android, ever. She told me was in a rush and her little son bugging her too!
Accidentally clicked on format but not knows whether full or quick format.
Actually I don't know if Android has same formatting capabilities (quick / full) as Windows, does it?

    Brand: micro sd Verbatim

Unfortunately none of them worked out. I've tried 10 programs so far. Nada.

Can you read something/anything in some hex view tool?

    Haven't tried to be honest.

What I can actually see right now are these folders in the root:
    .android_secure
    Android
    LOST.DIR

I guess they are a product for having the card a quick format.
They're visible from withing Windows explorer.

    That's it.

All recovery programs I've run so far show same as above pic

I suppose you have done a deep scan of your sd card?

Running easeus right now. It's at mid-process but Found files: 0 so far.
This is the last attempt and I give up.
I must accept data is lost for good.

Give it a quick look in a hex viewer before you set it on fire and throw it in the local river...
If all data is really gone.....

Hex Editor Neo -> File -> Open -> Open Volume...

    Edit
You can do the same with HxD 2.0, Tools -> Open Disk...

I've had the same experience. SD Card wiped (128gb) via android. Couldn't recover a thing. R-Studio, GetData, Testdisk, etc. Then checked with HxD and saw all 00 :(
