On my Windows 7 Ultimate I get Red X on Network Icon in the System tray after I created incoming VPN connection. That Red X is misleading as I am actually connected to the Internet and can very well browse the net. I suspect this to be some bug in Windows 7. There is a similar thread on Answer Microsoft site but the suggested solution did not work for me. Is there an way the Red X can be removed? Thanks in advance.
I had something similar happen on my VirtualBox Windows 7. It wasn't with a VPN connection, but was present as long as never10 was running. The network icon had the "!" badge. The connection was fine, just that irritating little yellow triangle. Since all was operating normally, I just removed the network icon from the system tray. I don't need an icon to tell me the connection is broken ... or working.
