For the big picture of compatibity problems sake, my question to the community below: "All supermarkets deploy psychologists. How about really big software companies?" edit: it's getting late, this post isn't meant as insulting. when everyone buys the same operating sys, we have a problem of diversity. We're tricking ourselves now.. The conclusion of this interesting talk we had in my thread: Give WINE, the Windows Emulator, better support for Windows. A lot of ported DLL remastering and all such is going to be required. Thank you.
It's called marketing and they're spending a ton of money on it. No surprise there. And they have the advantage of a monopoly on backwards compatibility and widest variety of popular software. They'd be fools to not capitalize on that. And they are capitalizing on it. They're being obnoxious a-holes about it too. I really wish Linux had a "play-any-windows game" and "print-to-any-printer" subsystem that worked. Then the decision of what OS to use would be easy.
it's the M$ new handbook endorsed by the NSA: Obedience to Authority a uniform view on conformity and control
This precisely. Marketing is why you see items in a grocery store aimed at kids placed lower on the shelves so the small ones can see them. Regulators have tried to stop that but the bright colors still persist. “Industrial Psychology” is a field of study all to itself as is marketing and companies have been doing it for decades. Ever heard the expression “sex sells”? That’s why you see pretty girls advertising all sorts of male oriented products. Microsoft is just using time proven tactics. Tactics employed long before they even existed. The earliest I remember is Betty Furness selling refrigerators on American TV in 1955.
Still.... you might want to change that: "Redmond tricks us psychologically" to "Redmond tricks SOME OF us psychologically". NOW you see the one and only problem....
More like a Jedi mind trick....Satya waves his hand and announces that you will love free Windows 10 no matter what and they reply, "We love free Windows 10 no matter what"
Give me a break. I always wanted to puke whenever I see that fugly face. There is always an expression of greed and evil on that face.
Only work with fanboys, and in this community there are a bunch, of zombies Most of their tricks dont work with a few of us.
And what that lady do? I only know her, Dona Sarkar, by WZor photos, nothing more. What she have done that is worth to know? cheers
While Apple charges big money and Linux doesn't standardize on a single user-friendly system, Microsoft will justifiably dominate the market, and personally I'm glad it does, otherwise we'd have more problems than we do now.
