Do you know of a Registry Hack to repair the internet (browser) connection? ;)

I afraid it's not the way to solve your apparently 'network' problem, from what I understand from your post. Try to check your proxy setting, and try to ping to google.com instead.

It should also be noted that pre-SP1 there was a problem with folder discovery, and folder view settings seemingly changing on their own. While this bug was fixed in SP1, if your system has already been corrupted by this then you should also use this registry fix to reset everything to default and from then on settings should stick as intended.

The reg file won't run on my computer. Windows can't identify the program to run it. What can I do?

This bug is definitely not fixed in SP1.

    Hi,

My program files folder is somehow set to a pictures templates. Since it's a system folder, windows won't let me change it.
Tried the registry hack, twice (manually and with the file) but it didn't work.
    Anybody has an idea?

    Thx

Same here. And the file didn't disappoint. Thanks because this "feature" of Vista was causing me great headaches.

You've quoted the answer you are looking for.

If the customizations and settings are reset, will it in any way improve performance of my system, or will it have some other effect?
