    Hi guys.

I recently downloaded a W7 x64 so file from isohunt and installed it perfectly. When it was time to activate it with the included loader, it did not work. after the loader finished, i would not be able to reboot into Windows 7.

I tried lots of different settings, but none of them worked.

This is my 8th try. I need help. What should i do?

(my iso file should be fine. It was uploaded by time surfer.)

If it helps, I am on a Dell insprion with an AMD Athlon x64 core.

But you talk about an loader that was included, and there is no loader included on the .iso files from DigitalRiver. Download a clean .iso file, and then download the Daz loader.

The ISO is clean. The loader was separatly packed in the torrent.

Ok. If you don't want any help that's OK. But if you have tried to install W7 8 times, and still has problems you have two choices:
    1. Try to install the 9. time with the .iso file and loader you have now. Maybe the 9. time is your lucky install+
    2. Download a new clean .iso image, install that, and download a new loader and try with that.

I would love help! And i appreciate you helping, but the ISO is not the problem.

I'll wait for a couple more replies before i try anything else. Perhaps somebody can suggest another loader? another method of activating windows 7?

Could it be a hidden partition causing your problem? I had a problem with an inspiron because of the media direct partition that comes with dell laptops. When I reformatted the drive and deleted the partitions and reinstalled w7, the loader worked.

I have on drive partitioned into several parts. one part is labeled OEM another a recovery partition for my old vista, and lastely my main partition-Windows 7. could this be the issue?

@Myhken I was using Daz's loader. I tried almost all of the settings.

That could be the cause... I used Active@ KillDisk to delete everything on an inspiron... and the loader worked. 1 problem though, the media direct button no longer worked but wn7 is activated. Did this on my daughter's laptop just weeks ago.

*edit... Don't use killdisk if you have important data on the other partitions.. back up first. Killdisk will erase everything.

thats quite alright. i don't have any data i need to keep.

    here are my symptoms:

    Windows 7 installs perfectly.
    I use DAZ loader
    Reboot
Can not boot into windows 7
    Try to repair with disk.
    Fails.
Formats partition and reinstalls windows 7
    works fine. still not activated.

    did you experience similar things?

Yes. I would install w7, install loader and I couldn't boot after. Repaired it with the dvd but ended up not activated. Then I read somewhere here at mdl about another guy having this problem and someone (i think Daz) suggested reformat and remove hidden partitions... which I did and it worked. The symptoms are the same but of course there is a chance your problem might be different. I just wanted you to know coz it might be helpful , so I replied to your post.

Since you have reinstalled 8 times already, it might be worth a try. Use killdisk, it will delete hidden partitions. Reinstall w7 and use daz loader. If it works then great.... if not don't give up... :)

What is your inspiron model? my daughter's laptop is a inspiron 1525.

Added: also you can burn a system repair disc from within windows 7 before you use the loader. Comes handy when things get messed up with the boot sector. start menu>search box...type create a system repair disk.

Just my thoughts... there's nothing to lose if you try removing all partitions. Except for the fact that you lose the recovery options for your old vista and of course the D: Recovery that comes with dell computers.

Anyway, this is all I can contribute. I hope you succeed. Goodluck to you. :)

If you are having a really hard time getting the loader to work then why not just try a BIOS mod? :)
