If I buy a new laptop, say from Dell, that has Windows 8 Core x64 on it, then if I reinstall Windows 8 Core x64 from my "special" AIO Windows 8 ISO... will it activate without further ado because of the embedded SLIC table in the BIOS?? Or am I missing something?
Good question! Todfay I was in an IT Mall in Bangkok and checked some bunch of HP Laptops about the pre installed Windows 8. First I was look at the Sticker on the bottom wihch is just a Rectangle with the Windows 8 Logo but a number etc, and than checked via the properties and found that all Key's are different and the Version Description are: Windows 8 Single Language! Wasn't able to make any photos, the staff wasn't allow me that. Even all were locked against rebooting for to check the BIOS!
Remember that using ATM, you can't restore the license after installing Core cause the SKU is different. You have to make a frankenbuild to make it work.
