Hi MDL, While making an all-in-one iso for Windows Vista my final ISO size equals 4.782.354.432 bytes, while a normal DVD only contains ~4.700.000.000 bytes. This sucks because I do not want to waste a DL-DVD for this. The ISO is only ~82MB too big. So my question is; are there any files which I can remove from a Windows Vista installation iso so it will be consuming less bytes. I did only not add any software to the install.wim, I only combined all versions. Thanks!
Yes, I have done that. There is the .bat file I used for it. Code: Dism /Export-Image /SourceImageFile:Q:\sources\install.wim /SourceIndex:7 /DestinationImageFile:C:\install.wim /DestinationName:"Windows Vista Starter" /compress:maximum Dism /Export-Image /SourceImageFile:Q:\sources\install.wim /SourceIndex:2 /DestinationImageFile:C:\install.wim /DestinationName:"Windows Vista Home Basic" /compress:maximum Dism /Export-Image /SourceImageFile:Q:\sources\install.wim /SourceIndex:3 /DestinationImageFile:C:\install.wim /DestinationName:"Windows Vista Home Premium" /compress:maximum Dism /Export-Image /SourceImageFile:Q:\sources\install.wim /SourceIndex:1 /DestinationImageFile:C:\install.wim /DestinationName:"Windows Vista Business" /compress:maximum Dism /Export-Image /SourceImageFile:Q:\sources\install.wim /SourceIndex:4 /DestinationImageFile:C:\install.wim /DestinationName:"Windows Vista Ultimate" /compress:maximum Dism /Export-Image /SourceImageFile:K:\sources\install.wim /SourceIndex:2 /DestinationImageFile:C:\install.wim /DestinationName:"Windows Vista Home Basic" /compress:maximum Dism /Export-Image /SourceImageFile:K:\sources\install.wim /SourceIndex:3 /DestinationImageFile:C:\install.wim /DestinationName:"Windows Vista Home Premium" /compress:maximum Dism /Export-Image /SourceImageFile:K:\sources\install.wim /SourceIndex:1 /DestinationImageFile:C:\install.wim /DestinationName:"Windows Vista Business" /compress:maximum Dism /Export-Image /SourceImageFile:K:\sources\install.wim /SourceIndex:4 /DestinationImageFile:C:\install.wim /DestinationName:"Windows Vista Ultimate" /compress:maximum Edit: This is how I created the ISO; Extract the x86 iso using WinRAR, added the x64 boot, EFI and sources/6.0.6000.16386_amd64 to the x86 extracted ISO, added the install.wim to the sources folder, than I used oscdimg to create the ISO.
