    Do we need any of the previous ones or just v14? As I have 2005, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2019 both X86 and X64
Sorry couldn't insert a screen shot or picture off my drive showing what's installed.
    Cheers

    Thanks for that, so basically I can uninstall 2005, 2008, 2010, 2012, both X86 and X64?

2005, 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2013 are all separate versions! Only with 2015 and up, the newer replace the previous.

I will explain it once again.
If you try to run an app written in older Visual Studio, for example 2005, then you must have VC++ 2005 installed (the OS version does not matter). If you don't had installed the VC++ 2005 then you will see an error about missing DLL's while you try to run the app.
The same comes for all other VC++ runtimes versions.

Now you can decide, if you need the older versions of VC++ runtimes installed or not.

Yes, except for 2015, 2017 and 2019. They replace each other and cannot coexist.

    Hello

you can get that progress thing with Manual mode: VisualCppRedist_AIO_x86_x64.exe /aiM

this is kind of limitation of Windows Installer (MSI), it cannot force closing them
but if you ran the installer in Quiet mode, it will skip those opened applications/services and schedule replacing currently used files after reboot

Stay with the official release. There are probably good reasons why the other is still Preview.
