Hi, I constantly get computers that have windows registry hive files damaged (system32\config\ SOFTWARE; DEFAULT; SECURITY...) I just found "Recovery Toolbox for Registry" application, tested and it seems that it is able to fix the damanged files however, its a paid software. Maybe the software has a different name? I have seen a lot of recovery software resold by different names. Does anybody know any alternatives? or a way to fix registry hive files? Just please don't suggest regback, system restore, sfc or dism scans. regback is disabled now by default, system restore never has restore points, sfc and dism dont do anything.
The problem is with the registry hive files. They are corrupted. Windows can't read them. This is nothing to do with BIOS.
Come on guys. I've been googling and searching. I know all that stuff. What I am looking is the software that will be able to fix hive files. The one I mentioned I found just today. It is paid.
Registry isn't going to corrupt itself as hobby. If that happen regularly you MUST have either a broken RAM stick, a failing HDD/SSD, or a overheating CPU, PERIOD. Unless you stop to cure the effect and look for the cause your IT problems will never end
Cannot find. Did you maybe see it anywhere? Maybe by a different name? I just don't want to buy software
You miss understood me. It is not my computer that gets constantly corrupted. I get computers from other people with the same problem - corrupted registry hive files. And since regback is no longer enabled by default it is very hard to get the computer back up and running. Install all the programs, licences and so on.
No one forbids you to do a registry backup and use it. If something is regularly corrupted, it is necessary to first eliminate the cause and then perform a clean installation. The cause is usually between the keyboard and the back of the chair. We need to start by fixing of it. As long as the cause is the same and it is on its usual place, nothing will change and any tool will not help.
That won't change the matter by a bit. Registry corruption was a relatively common problem in the W95 days but not today. Today it implies an HW problem in 99.99% of the cases. Whatever I understand that this is an international forum with people coming also from less developed countries where cheap/old/used/counterfeit HW is more common than elsewhere. Back to the recovery of damaged files, first do a chkdsk /f that is often sufficient to get your registry back If it's not enough open the hive offline change something and unload the hive. If regedit from win10 fails try regedit from xp or from the linux password recovery disk (or hiren's boot cd that includes both a Mini XP end the linux tool). If nothing of the above works, just reinstall
Is this thread some sort of sick marketing trick? Cause I'm gonna grab that program and begin to crack it Couldn't find a crack patch elsewhere.
Definitely not I am looking to you sharing the cracked version I am just looking for a faster way to restore computers when I am dealing with such a problem. It takes a lot of time to reinstall, put printers back, put licensed software back, configure all the settings and so on. I would rather deal with some software not working after registry recovery than doing computer reinstall.
Fixing the cause then doing a clean reinstall is like curing your son, then killing him, then adopt a new baby Pointless to say the best
