Being an owner of the first ASUS Crosshair Board I am still annoyed that ASUS did not update the BIOS to support Phenom II CPUs though basically they work on this board. So I'm not firm on BIOS modding, but regarding they are modular I wonder if it might be possible to replace the CPU Code for an unused CPU type (for example any Sempron or Athlon 64) with the code for the Phenom II CPU (for example 945 BE) so it works from scratch, the CPU is not recognized as an Unknown Processor and doesn't require a reset after booting to load the OS? Even change the complete AMD AGESA Code block (if there is any)?
