    Hi, all

After (clean) installing and activating Windows 10 on a computer with a SLIC 2.1 mod BIOS and running Windows 7, is it likely that replacing the modded BIOS with a non-modded (ie, stock) BIOS in future will not affect the Windows 10 activation status (which is stored online)?

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Replacing the BIOS without SLIC may make your windows detect it as a different motherboard and prompt for reactivation. I don't see why you would want to do this though?

Changing the SLIC 2.1 marker (or removing it) does not deactivate Windows 10 Digital Entitlement - I have tested this on 2 motherboards.

However, updating the UEFI on my Z170 board did deactivate Windows 10 once, others have also complained about this issue - but it does not effect everyone (I assume it only occurs when a specific part of the UEFI is modified).
