    Hi!

    I searched about this question i haven't found any answer.

    I've a HP Compaq 6710b with BIOS F.20 (01/12/2011): "ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55501-56000/sp55553.exe" and I can't downgrade to F.16.

    I tried with "HPQFlash_4.30.10.2_patched" in Windows and patched "Rompaq.exe" in DOS and always said that can't be downgraded.

    Can anyone help me, modifying this lastest BIOS or tell me how to downgrade?

    Cheers!

    In fact, no need to bother him. Check out this post and use the listed DOS FLASH TOOLKIT. You should be good with it:

    I'm having the same problem; On my HP Compaq 6710b is alread BIOS version F.20 (12/01/2011) installed.

    I've try'd;

    * FLASH_DOS_BOOT with rompaq V4.78c (gives error while writing on every version other dan F.20)
    * HPQFlash_4.30.10.2_patched (can't downgrade to older BIOS versoin)

    Has anybody got an idea to help me?

    Hi all,
    ...ehh, i have the same problem. I would like to have a SLIC 2.1 table for my HP Compaq 6710b notebook. Yes i know, it's an older type of notebook and i've bought it recently from a second-hand store. You know budget issues with this economy... :sad:
    My BIOS is also a F.20 version (the most current and newest). Please if one of your specialists has some spare time left, is it possible to compile a modified BIOS for my notebook?
    Thank you anyways in advance!
    Kind regards,
    Harm
