I thought I did not recognize your board.

    Glad it worked out.
If you post the request in the wrong place you usually don't get a response, but if you request in the right place you get an excellent response.

(add) Good idea for finding modded bioses. Search by bios version. So I searched for 1011 but these modded bios versions are from K8N boards

Which is the correct forum for my request?

    flashing ASUS_P5A_1011.005_ASUS_SLIC_2.1_OEM7_ACPI_at_END_I gnore_Checksum

    1. Flashing without updating boot and escd - successfully / rebooting PC - ok
    2. enter bios - ok / setup to bios defaults - ok
    3. booting windows7 - ok - load files then after 10 sec. hard reset

    4. so I inserted the W7 DVD booting from it - ok
and now here is the error from the w7 DVD after loadling:
Wow - this explanation directly from microsoft, i am impressed...

so the mod failed - sorry - I am flashing back to the original

I have learned the tutors of Yen and Zort, and done this one.
The first manual mod by using cbrom182.

It might not work. ( pointer to the new slic, add and delete extra bytes )

    Code:
    cbrom182 V1.82 [04/11/07] (C)Phoenix Technologies 2001-2007

    HURRA !!!

    P5A ist wieder da - P5A is alive !!!

I made a hotflash with a DFI K6XV3+66 board. Hardware just DFI board, cpu, 128MB Ram, PCI graphic card, PS2 keyboard and a floppy disk (A:\) (no harddisk)

    1. Remove the STT bios chip of the P5A board
    2. Boot DFI board with out boot diskette, board stopped, waiting for pressed key (for boot disk)
    3. Remove the MX bios chip on DFI board
    4. Insert the STT bios chip on DFI board
    5. Insert boot disk and press key to boot
    6. Start UNIFLASH -E 1011.005 (after flashing - power down)
    7. Remove STT on DFI and plug it back to P5A

    Thank you for your links!
