    Hi,

Does anyone knows where I can find untouched versions of Windows XP Pro RTM (without any service packs) ?

I spent some time browsing here but I can't find any links.

If your not French why did you want French XP?

    And why without any sp?

    Just curious :)

I'm dutch but I live (and will die) in France.

Don't care about having a dutch XP.

English or french is fine for me, and the unofficial XP SP4 is only for the english version.
I want to make a french version of this unofficial service pack.

Anyway, people report that integration of SP4 in a RTM version will lead to a cleaner and leaner result and that makes sens, so I guess I'll give it a try and see if this is true.

    XP is NOT dead !

I've got a pile of brand new XP compatible motherboards and I'll be fine for the next 20-30 years.
Don't care about games, DirectX 15 and the latest Net Framework crap.

I need a super lean stripped down to the bone and up to date version of NT5 to run on my underclocked energy efficient (running on solar and generator power) hardware.

I'm going to patch it with POSReady 2009 updates until they run out in 2019.

It will be a very special OS but it will be fine for me because I'm a geek.

    That's very interesting !

I did not know about that.
I'm familiar with modding and stripping down XP but I'm new to the unofficial SP4 thingies...
Was looking at harkaz's unofficial SP4 on ryanvm.net and it looks very nice to me but I'll have to take a look at some alternative options...

    Nice ! :)

You should know that I don't have a lot of contact with humanoids IRL.
I'm a geek/hermit living in a mountain cabin far from modern civilization. :D

    3G mobile connections rock !
Even in remote areas of the French Pyrenees I manage to get a connection with an external antenna...

    Yes sir !
Will RTFM before downloading big update packs and stuff.
Mobile connection = limited to 12 GB of data per month.

Just blasted a few gigs downloading XP iso's so I'm getting nervous about burning some more today.
Will make friends with people connected to big pipes to suck the files down at their place.
Anyway, thanks for the info !

I see there's Net Framework stuff in the INTL folder and I don't think I want that in my XP.
Should I just integrate it and uninstall it after XP installation ?

There's also LegitCheckControl.cab in the same folder.
    I guess that's Microsoft's WGA checker thing ?

Just checking and trying not to install stuff I don't really need...

I guess wuweb.cab has something to do something with Windows Update...

Need to RTFM before downloading and integrating packs because I want things as lean as possible as long as it doesn't break important stuff in XP.

    OK, no worries.
I'm just curious and eager to know how this stuff works before I start building ISO's.

Will take some time to browse some threads and try to learn more.

    Anyway, I appreciate your help.

Thanks, and enjoy the rest of your weekend. :)
