I think we already know that W10 must desserve a lot of attention and resources, but we already know too that W7, W8 & 8.1 are getting recentely updates and changes related with Telemetry, W10 upgrade, etc. I think too that this behaviour from MS will not stop. So, i started this post to express my concerning about privacy in Windows 7 essencially because i believe W7 is the real desktop OS. Of course, W8 & 8.1 must not be forgetted. My question is: Can you make scripts/apps to W7 like the existing ones in W10?
After 6 years you remembered the privacy in Windows 7? avoiding telemetry and upgrade updates is enough
they are adding windows 10 telemetry to all supported OSes, apparently. they would even be putting it in XP if they hadn't stopped support.
Just tested the DWS_Lite.exe on Windows 7 pro (x64) the enable professional in settings is not working nor is anything in the Utilities tab, its all greyed out. Is this normal and meant only for windows 10? I ran the program and it worked ok, though I had removed most things manually already. I checked and nothing is stopping it running on the PC.
