I'm kind of planning to get a new video card and just realised that there are two kinds of heat sinks being applied nowadays. The normal fan and the solid heat sink [what is it called?]. I just wanted to ask if it really matters when I'm getting a video card to look at what kind of heat sink it uses. I'm just a casual gamer who is okay with medium settings. Is it only for high-end gaming that we should consider stuff like this?
Which GPU's you are looking at ? Fan-less GPU's are usually weaker, but quieter and get usually used for HTPC's. It all comes down to, what you want to do / play with it.
