    Hello,

    Today i made some changes in the registry of the server 2008 R2 machine.
    Now when i rebooted the server i didnt start and hung on black screen with the arrow pointer.
    I tried running the sfc /scannow with the DVD repair but it told me repair pending please complete it.
    Not able to run it in safe mode.
    Any idea how can i redo that registry change or just restore the registry to original??

    Thank you

    If you are able to start your PC with a DaRT bootable CD you should be able to undo the changes you made using ERD Registry Editor, that is if you still remember what changes you made in the first place.

    Or any WinPE based media will work for that

    @sebus, is it?

    I know using DaRT ERD Registry Editor, you open the target machine registry, using any WinPE based media will open the WinPE registry, not the target machine registry

    Actually i made the changes in permission in viewing of the key.
    I made that unreadable for the system and that screwed up the server
    So in this case changing the permission would this work??
